Here's what parents have to say about our camps!

Both of our boys did Mad Science summer camps when they were younger, and loved the experience! It was a very fun and interactive experience for them. And counselor Beth Morrell is the best!!!

Raleigh, NC

My son attended the Earth, Space & Beyond Mad Science Camp last summer and absolutely loved it! The hours were convenient for our family, and the location was close by for us. We're sending him again to a Mad Science camp this upcoming summer. These are well run camps, in our experience, and I recommend them for people looking for a fun, science-based camp experience.

Silver Spring, MD

My son participated in a true "camp" with horses, swimming, fishing and hiking and he was MORE excited about this camp than anything else he's done all summer. Great job on your end!

Austin, TX

Can I sign my child up for more than one camp?

Yes, in fact, we encourage it. Each program is completely different, so your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities!

Who are the Mad Science camp instructors?

Mad Science instructors tend to be college students pursing an education or science degree, former/retired teachers, or teachers on summer break. All of our instructors have experience working with large groups of elementary-aged children and have undergone an extensive background check. A CPR and First Aid certified instructor is always on site.

What is the child to instructor ratio?

The child to instructor ratio varies depending on enrollment. We always have at least one instructor for every 12-15 students.

Do you offer extended care or late pick up?

We do offer late pick-up (from 4:00pm - 6:00pm) for our 7-hour per day camps. The charge for this is $75 per week. Early drop-off is available on our 7-hour camps. You can drop your child off from 8:00am -9:00am for no additional charge.

Do you offer sibling or multi-camp discounts?

Yes. The multiple camp discount applies to multiple camps for one child or multiple camps for siblings. At this time, the online registration system is not capable automatically applying multiple camp discounts. You will need to enter the coupon code multicamp to apply the discount to your order.

Is lunch or snacks provided?

Snacks like pretzels and goldfish crackers are provided along with occasional "snack"tivities. The snacks that are part of each camp day are not a significant amount of food. If your child has any allergies or dietary restrictions, we ask that you please send your own snacks. Children bring their own lunch. (Gatti's locations are an exception.)

Do Mad Science camps pose any physical risks to my child?

Since our camps do not include activities such as swimming, horseback riding, or archery, any physical risk would be the same as normal life. If an incident should occur such as a scraped knee, fall from a tipped chair, or bump of any kind it would be reported to parents with a call or a report upon pick-up depending on the injury.

Are camps licensed by the State of Texas?

Our camps are not licensed by the State of Texas. Our camps have been exempted by the Texas Department of Health from licensing because our activities do not include traditional camp activities such as horseback riding, archery, and swimming. Our camps are a skills program which meets the exemption criteria under TAC 745.129 (2).
